Our Story

Toyota Iraq Company was established in March 2016 through a partnership between the Japanese Sumitomo Corporation and automotive businessman Mr. Sardar Al Bebany. The strategic formation was to utilize Sumitomo's expertise in global corporate business and Mr. Sardar Al Bebany's local expertise, combining strengths to be licensed to use the trademarks of (Toyota, Hino, and Lexus) manufacturers in Iraq. Presently, we operate from three offices located in Baghdad, Erbil, and Basra.

Hybrid

All You Need To Know About Going Hybrid

The journey of hybrid cars began from a simple idea: what if we can combine fuel and electricity in one vehicle? If one source runs out, the other can compensate, overall decreasing the use of gasoline. In 1997, that idea bore fruit, as Toyota launched its first-ever hybrid car with those dual engines, the iconic Toyota Prius.

Hybrids run on both fuel and electric power, with energy generated during driving and braking. Toyota continues to develop its hybrid technology, enhancing the driving experience with improved fuel efficiency, advanced features, and superior safety.

  • 8-Year Warranty on the hybrid battery.
  • 3-Year New Vehicle Limited Warranty (or 100,000 km).
  • 2 Years (or 40,000 km) free maintenance (3 Years/60,000 km for Crown models).

Beyond Zero Our Vision For Carbon Neutrality

Toyota is on a constant quest to make a positive impact on our planet and society, and Beyond Zero is an extension of that, an initiative to reach beyond carbon neutrality with Toyota's products, services, and operations.

Toyota currently offers more low and zero-emission vehicles combined than any other automaker, giving customers numerous choices to reduce their carbon footprint.

We want future generations to continue to enjoy the natural wonders of our world. That’s why Toyota's efforts toward the Beyond Zero vision are not solely focused on reducing carbon emissions; they’re also about helping conserve natural resources, reducing waste throughout Toyota's operations, and finding ways to make a positive impact.

Step 1: Let’s Understand Carbon Emissions

Carbon emissions are key players in environmental challenges. These emissions, particularly greenhouse gases, contribute significantly to global warming and climate change. At Toyota, we're working to reduce carbon emissions everywhere, from our manufacturing plants to our dealerships and suppliers too.

Step 2: Let's Embrace Hybrid Electric Vehicles

Hybrid Electric Vehicles act as the catalyst for Carbon Neutrality, offering efficient and eco-friendly alternatives. They start, refuel, and handle like the gas-only Toyotas you already know and love—just with better mpg.

Step 3: Let’s Look At The Future

Through the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050, team members across the company, in every region of the world, are working to put Toyota’s global vision of Respect for the Planet into action. Challenge 2050 unites us all with a common purpose: to be more than just good stewards of the environment and to create positive changes beyond our facility boundaries.

Gazoo Racing (GR)

What is Gazoo Racing (GR)?

GR is Toyota’s motorsports division, bringing its experience from racing circuits to our road cars. For over 60 years, Toyota has been pushing its cars’ limits in motorsports, and you can observe this progress in the GR series. These road cars are derived from sports cars, benefiting from the knowledge and technology forged in competitive racing.

By Enthusiasts, For Enthusiasts

Toyota’s motorsports began over 60 years ago. Gazoo Racing started as a small team conquering extreme terrains under founder Akio Toyoda’s philosophy that "roads create people, and people create cars."

Today, Gazoo Racing is on a constant mission to develop the most exciting road cars. Similar to how athletes push their limits for the Olympics, Gazoo Racing does the same for its cars.

Allowing Drivers To Own The Road

Today, Toyota Iraq takes pride in offering our customers the GR series, designed for driving enthusiasts. These versions have been created with the knowledge and technology from Toyota Gazoo Racing, showcasing differences through spec and design upgrades, depending on the model.

Mobility For All No One Will Be Left Behind

In the 2021 Olympic and Paralympic Games hosted in Tokyo, Toyota introduced some of its most advanced prototypes. Its 90%-electric fleet reduced carbon emissions by half and offered a glimpse of the advanced mobility future that Toyota imagines.
